Vacuum Coatings

Grupa Azoty S.A. Research and Development Center S.A. offers metal and non-metal vacuum coating service. Physical vapor deposition (PVD) technology combined with plasma and CVD (chemical vapor deposition) technology has a number of advantages over competing solutions, such as galvanic coatings.

PVD

Physical Vapour Deposition
Features

  • no toxic compounds used or released during the process
  • process speed
  • lack of wastewater / process water to be disposed of
  • strict control over the process and layer parameters
  • coating with metal alloys and oxides, non-metals, single or in the form of several layers
  • applying non-conductive coatings on non-conductive substrates
  • possibility of using small size sources for research purposes
  • use of a coating and a layer protecting against oxidation and abrasive wear in one cycle
  • advantage over electroplating solutions - from 2024, according to the EU REACH directive, it is not possible to use chromium in electroplating technology

Usage

  • technical coatings for energy applications
  • technical coatings for industrial applications
  • coatings for medicine
  • sacred objects
  • restoration of antiques
  • elements in motor vehicles (both external and internal fittings, lamps, decorative elements, control buttons)
  • RTV and household appliances elements (buttons, switches, trays, frames, panels)
  • decorative elements for the home (lamps, lampshades, switches, buttons, bathroom fittings, door handles)

Quality

We exercise strict control over the process and layer parameters.

Time

The technology is characterized by the speed of the process - up to 10 minutes per cycle!

We also offer the possibility of testing coatings. Our laboratory is equipped with devices that allow to check a number of layer parameters.

Ecology

69/5000 No toxic compounds used or released during the process.

In addition, we also offer the possibility of testing coatings. Our laboratory is equipped with devices that allow to check a number of layer parameters.

The basic properties of the coatings tested in the laboratory include:

  • hardness,
  • adhesion of the coating to the substrate,
  • surface topography,
  • resistance to abrasive wear in contact with metals,
  • wear resistance by wiping through the user's hands.
igm

At present, coatings made of aluminum, chrome, copper, bronze, brass, stainless steel, titanium and silver are offered. Other metals / alloys and non-metal coatings available on request.

Contrary to electroplated coatings, the cost depends on the volume of the element and not on its surface.

Due to the nature of the process and the specificity of the technology, the valuation is carried out individually for each client.
